Brand Fever Wins First Place in National Design Competition

ATLANTA – Atlanta-based Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) has won first place in the American Design Awards national competition in the category of Web design for its work on www.jonesdesign.com. Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) was honored among hundreds of entries from graphic designers, design firms and corporations.

Located in a loft in the historic Pioneer Neon Building, the multidisciplinary visual communications firm was founded in 1997 and specializes in building brands through a variety of mediums including digital, physical and print for clients such as The Coca-Cola Company; PolyVision, a Steelcase Company; Towers Perrin and Spa Sydell. Although Vicky Jones’ firm delivers impactful, effective, exactly-right design consistently for its clients, the task of creating a Web site to convey the Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) company message in a eye-catching, organized, educative manner proved more of a challenge.

Notes Vicky Jones, “It was time to really define what Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) has been doing successfully for our clients over the past five years and assess how we have evolved. Designers strategizing for themselves is always a bigger challenge. I felt almost ‘too close’ to the subject at times. We all worked as a team, as we always do, and created a Web site that clearly defines our process and core competencies. This project was internally nurtured, perfected, critiqued, then perfected again. It serves as a critical tool to continue to focus The Jones Group’s mission while serving as a means of communication with our current and potential clients. We are thrilled the American Design Awards has taken notice of the Web site.”

The American Design Awards first place prize is Brand Fever’s (formerly The Jones Group) twelfth award this year and its highest honor. In 2002, Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) also won two “Excellence in Communication and Graphic Design” from the American Graphic Design Awards, two “Awards of Excellence” from Global Corporate Identity and seven “Awards of Excellence” from American Corporate Identity.

Geographics of Atlanta Seeks Brand Fever to Build Awareness.

Geographics, Atlanta's Only 10-Color Press, Seeks Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) to Build Awareness.

ATLANTA – When Geographics recently acquired the only 10-color press in the state of Georgia, they knew it would be significant news to print buyers. Ron Lanio, the newly appointed vice president of sales for Geographics, needed to find a partner who could convey their new capabilities. For a printer whose audiences had not traditionally been design firms and agencies, they had emerged in the sheet-fed printing market with the first 10-color press in the Southeast and one of the seventeen in the United States. The new press provided advantageous printing solutions. Benefits ranged from cost savings to extensive print capabilities new to the industry.

To Vicky, founder and principal of the downtown-based multidisciplinary visual communications firm, the challenge was a welcome one. The 10-color press was an ideal means of communicating the full extent of her firm’s design savvy. The result is a rich, targeted, “show what we can do” brochure. Utilizing Brand Fever’s (formerly The Jones Group) “show your true colors” theme, the piece not only proved to be a highly successful sales tool for Geographics, but also received an Award of Excellence from the American Graphic Design Awards. Through punchy headlines, a brilliant color palette and strategic copy, designers and other corporate design decision-makers understand immediately the benefits of enlisting the services of Geographics and its 10-color press including fewer press checks, color accuracy, cost savings and less paper waste among others.

Jones notes, “We always strive to be ahead of the design curve and offer our clients the best design and the best services. The fact that Geographics approached Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) is testament to our commitment to our customers and the strategic and creative talent within the agency.”

Ron Lanio comments: “My sales people use the brochure on a daily basis with their presentations. Our customers are reacting positively to this piece that is truly a stand out in the industry. It is obvious that Vicky knows a great deal not only about design, but about printing. I credit Brand Fever (formerly The Jones Group) for its success from the concept phase to the design and creation.”
